Panama: an unforgetable birdwatching tour in a very special country
Our special quest is to find quetzals and hummingbirds.

Violet-bellied Hummingbird
Panama is central American country which has a mixture of the original Indian character with Spanish influences, as well as an indelible impression of a long American presence because of the Panama canal.
Panama, for European bird watchers, is a rather unknown destination and we would like to change this. For American bird watchers, Panama is better known and they know Panama can stand comparison with Costa Rica and emerge with flying colours.
The local guides know their bird species very well. Accommodation is superb and people are extraordinary friendly. The roads are also very good. During this tour we will visit many kinds of forests, where we can see most of the 1000 bird species prevailing in Panama. We will visit rain forests, cloud forests , mountain forests and dry tropical forests. We will follow the pipeline road and climb the tower where at high level we can watch birds which are not usually near us when we are at lower levels in the forest.
We will visit ponds, lakes and pools and we will see many birds in the surroundings of our lodges and hotels. In many places you can enjoy the sight of beautiful hummingbirds; it is a real sport to recognize as many as you can. We will not forget that Panama is the country of the famous Panama canal, so we will go to see all its aspects with our own eyes. In short, this will be a completely unforgettable birdwatching tour with a very special character of its own.
